Starts and finishes in Skardu. Allow around 13 calendar days with Islamabad arrival, a post-flight buffer and international departure. Regional travel arrangements will be explained separately.

Deosai is planned as an out-and-back excursion, not a required crossing. The guide will select a suitable turnaround point. If access or conditions are unsuitable, we’ll use a lower-valley alternative. No plateau camping or compulsory river crossing is planned.
The idea
Valleys first. High plains ahead.
Explore the Balti valleys around Skardu, Shigar and Khaplu, with Deosai as a seasonal highlight. Deosai is planned as a conditional out-and-back excursion from Skardu, with nights in the valleys.
Proposed for July to early September 2027, subject to local confirmation of Deosai access.

For riders comfortable with loose surfaces and uneven tracks. Expect a more active riding emphasis than Hunza High Road. The amount of rough riding, daily effort and access to Deosai must be confirmed before this becomes a bookable itinerary.
